MelBot lives in Discord, a Gen-Z community platform that works in a similar way to services like Slack. We recognise that not many brand managers are on Discord, so we set up your server (the name of your group) for you when you start. It’s very easy to use.
They’re already your customers! You set your own rules for entry to your program, and then promote the application link that we supply you on your own social media channels, website and email newsletters. As applications come in, MelBot displays them to you so you can accept or decline with a single click.
On a basic level you give fans a monthly incentive (online voucher), and they post about you. When fans post, they’re eligible to receive a voucher next month, and so on. Fans are asked to include a particular hashtag in their post so they can be tracked and seen together.
MelBot does all the admin that you do when running a fan program. On a simple level, it sends out vouchers to fans at the start of the month, tracks posts as they come in, reminds fans to post and validates their next voucher. We constantly develop new features to make running a fan community simpler and easier every month.
We get asked this question a lot, and it does depend on lots of things. MelBot takes away the time and hassle of running a fan program manually with things like Google and Excel sheets. It sends monthly vouchers to fans via both DM and SMS, which means fans don’t lose them, and then ask you for the code. The biggest benefit we see is that MelBot stays on top of admin, so you can spend more time making the fan program engaging for your fans, and profitable for your brand.
